International Relations Award

International Relations Award

Council chairpersons and district governors receive certificates annually to award to international relations chairpersons for their work in promoting these kinds of activities to Lions upon the completion of a successful year.

Awards Available Upon Request to District Governor

Lions International Relations Award Certificate

This award is available upon request to the district governor for presentation to a Lion within the district who has demonstrated the most outstanding international relations activity in one or more of the following areas of qualification:

  • Outstanding achievement in LCIF activities

  • United Nations projects and efforts

  • Initiatives that promote peace and cooperation among peoples of different nations and cultures

  • Leadership in international assistance projects

  • Other distinguished accomplishments in international relations

International Understanding and Cooperation Award (Outstanding Club Patch)

An Outstanding Club Patch award is available upon request to the district governor for presentation to the one club selected for outstanding participation in International Understanding and Cooperation activities. The governor may seek the advice of the International Relations chairperson regarding recipient selection.

Awards Available to Clubs

  • International Club Twinning: Upon reporting the first club twinning during a fiscal year to Lions Clubs International, clubs receive a twinning patch. Clubs receive no further award or recognition for that twinning relationship. If the club initiates another international twinning during another year, the club may then apply for another patch for the second twinning. Regardless of the number of twinnings in a fiscal year, a club may receive only one award. Clubs are advised to limit the number of twinnings in order to develop those relationships.
