Club Twinning Guidelines

Selection of a Club Twin

While Lions Clubs International Headquarters does not maintain a list of clubs interested in twinning, the following resources can be helpful in connecting with clubs in other countries:

  • Connect with Lions around the world through social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) to form a virtual friendship and make plans to meet in person at conventions and area forums.
  • Meet club members from around the world at international conventions and regional forums.
  • Search the Club Locator on LCI website for a club in the country you are interested in, and contact the club president.
  • Contact your district / multiple district International Relations Chairperson for information on existing or new twinning opportunities.

Twinning Recognition

After clubs have become friends, the can apply for an International Club Twinning Banner Patch Award. Lions Clubs International does not limit the number of international friendships amongst clubs, but only one twinning per club per fiscal year will be acknowledged with a banner patch award and letter.

The Club Twinning Award indicates participation in the International Club Twinning Program. The club does not receive annual recognition for twinning. It is expected that the twinning relationship will continue.

A club is eligible to receive another International Club Twinning Recognition only if it enters into a new twinning during a different fiscal year.
